This project explores the intersection of conscious materials, traditional craft, and everyday utility through the design of a portable laptop bracket for TDK Ventures.
Crafted from reclaimed rosewood, the design integrates Tarkashi, a 500-year-old inlay technique from Jaipur, where fine metal wires are intricately embedded into wood. Drawing from geometric influences of Mughal art, the detailing brings a layer of precision and cultural depth to an otherwise minimal form.
The bracket is designed to be lightweight, portable, and easy to assemble, making it ideal for use across work environments. It elevates the laptop for better ergonomics and airflow, preventing overheating while maintaining a clean, unobtrusive presence.
By combining heritage craftsmanship with a contemporary, functional product, the project reimagines how traditional techniques can evolve into meaningful, everyday design objects.
